Before you start your online application

• Use our 'Do I need a UK visa?' questionnaire to find out if you need a visa to come to the UK.
• Check the supported countries page to find out if the country you are applying from accepts online visa applications and online payments. Visit our Visa application centres overseas pages to get the contact details of your nearest UK visa issuing office.
• We require a valid email address. This is for security reasons and to allow us to contact you regarding your online application.
• You will also need to be able to print your completed online form using a ‘high quality’ print setting.

Once you have submitted your online application you will still be required to provide your original passport, supporting documents and the appropriate fees if you have not paid online. Current visa costs are available on your local visa application centres websites.

e-Appointments
Once you have submitted your application online, you can schedule an appointment with the visa section online using our e-appointments system.  Once you make the appointment online, you will be sent an email confirming the appointment.
