Further information
Why do I have to submit biometric data
Your visa application is not complete until you provide biometric data. Our visa staff can only make a decision once they receive your completed application including supporting documents, visa fee, biometric data and completed application form.
Biometric data collection
All travellers over the age of 5 years must book an appointment to submit their biometric data.
You must provide your biometric data with each visa application you make, as we cannot use the biometric details taken for an earlier application.
Full details about biometric data collection are available in our frequently asked questions pages on this website.
Appointments
Each applicant must schedule an appointment to submit their biometric data. Appointment booking slots are available on a 'first come, first served' basis.
Special arrangements cannot be made to allow groups such as family or friends to attend together. You will have greater choice of appointment times if you book in plenty of time before you travel. Appointment slots are usually available up to 12 weeks in advance.
To book, reschedule or cancel an appointment
- Go to the login screen.
- Enter your ‘application security details’ and your unique visa application number (GWF). You will find this number in the confirmation email that we sent you when you completed your visa application form.
- Use the appointment options shown on the screen to amend, reschedule or cancel your appointment.
You can also check the website of your visa application centre for information on booking appointments to leave your biometric data.
