Further information
Which visa application form?
In some countries we only accept application forms that are completed and submitted using our online application system. In other countries we accept printed application forms that you can download from this website and complete by hand. Staff at our visa application centres can guide you through the application process in your country.
To find out if the country you are applying from accepts online applications, online appointments and online payments visit our supported countries page.
Incorrect application form
If you have used the incorrect visa application form, you will need to start a new application and will be issued with a new GWF reference number.
Application forms and biometric data for your dependants
All travellers and their dependants must submit their own visa application form. Only travellers over the age of 5 years will have to provide their biometric data.
Save, submit and print your online application form
Make sure you save your online form often. When you complete your application form you should print a copy before you submit it online. The submitted information will be sent to our staff and the printed copy helps in case you are not able to access your saved application (because of lost password etc…).
Insufficient space to write
Enter the most recent and relevant information in the allocated space. Add any further information, in writing, on the printed version of your submitted application form.
Mandatory fields
If the requested information doesn't apply to you, then you should enter 'not applicable' or 'not known' or enter ‘01 Jan 1900’ if a date is required and doesn't apply to you. Explain in writing on the printed application form why you had to do this. Do not leave mandatory fields blank.
Print or recover your saved application
- Go to the login screen.
- Enter your ‘application security details’ and your unique visa application number (GWF). You will find this number in the confirmation email that we sent you when you completed your visa application.
- The print option is shown on the left hand side of the screen.
Edit a previously saved online application form
You can make changes to a saved visa application form before it is submitted. Once you submit the form you will not be able to make further changes.
Printing problems
Make sure that:
- your printer has enough ink to print the form in full;
- you are using the correct setting (A4 and not US letter) for paper size.
Declaration (online signature)
To sign the declaration on your application form you should type your name into the space given. You should also sign the printed copy of your form by hand.
Cancellations
If you want to cancel your online application, just abandon it and we will delete it from our system.
Supporting documents
All supporting documents must be original and translated into English. If you are unable to submit your documents within the given deadline, contact your visa application centre for further advice.
