STY5.1 List of main sponsored programmes for overseas students

Please note that applicants applying with the scholarships below will also need to have a visa letter from the licensed educational institution under PBS Tier 4.  See Tier 4 guidance on maintenance requirements for officially sponsored students. 

FCO-funded programme Countries to which applicable
1. British Marshall Scholarships FCO pays for all tuition fees and provide stipends  USA
2. Atlantic Fellowships  USA
3. Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) (administered by the British Council and the Association of Commonwealth Universities) (Jointly funded with DFID) All Commonwealth countries
4. Chevening Scholars including Jointly Funded Chevening Scholarships (jointly funded by FCO/industry/British universities and other interests) Some specified or all countries

5. Technical Co-operation Training (TCT) Developing countries

Many UK companies and universities also have similar sponsorship programmes.
