TB Screening general FAQs
Why are we doing this?
We already screen migrants arriving from countries which have a high level of tuberculosis if they are staying for over six months. Requiring them to have their health check before travel means that they can be identified and treated, if needed, before they come to the UK. The risk of contracting tuberculosis will be reduced for other passengers and most of those who have been cleared before travelling will no longer be delayed by medical checks on arrival in the UK.
