Independent Monitor - Overseas Visit Reports
The Independent Monitor is expected to spend three months each year visiting a range of UK Border Agency International Group offices throughout the world. The Independent Monitor chooses which places she wishes to visit, and when. She aims to see a wide cross section of visa work and so she visits all sizes of visa offices, and ones that have both high and low rates of refusing visas.
The Independent Monitor's visits focus on applications with limited appeal rights, examining the information that is available to applicants, the quality of decision making, and how we handle complaints and post decision correspondence.
She submits to UK Border Agency International Group an overview report on her visit, with recommendations. They can be found here, along with our comments on the reports.
